Lord “Show me now the way, that I may know you”

Maturing in the Prophetic Knowing God.

We can know a lot of things about God, but do we know him?

Exodus 33
And it came to pass, as Moses entered into the tabernacle, the cloudy pillar descended, and stood at the door of the tabernacle, and the Lord talked with Moses.

10 And all the people saw the cloudy pillar stand at the tabernacle door: and all the people rose up and worshipped, every man in his tent door.

11 And the Lord spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend. And he turned again into the camp: but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, departed not out of the tabernacle.

12 And Moses said unto the Lord, See, thou sayest unto me, Bring up this people: and thou hast not let me know whom thou wilt send with me. Yet thou hast said, I know thee by name, and thou hast also found grace in my sight.

13 Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people.

14 And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.

15 And he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence.

16 For wherein shall it be known here that I and thy people have found grace in thy sight? is it not in that thou goest with us? so shall we be separated, I and thy people, from all the people that are upon the face of the earth.

17 And the Lord said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken: for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name.

18 And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory.

19 And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy.

20 And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live.

21 And the Lord said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock:

22 And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by:

23 And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen.

Moses Basically says
God if you know me by name. I need 3 things to happen.

1.) Show me your ways so that I may know you.
2.) Lord your presence needs to go with us.

3.) Let me see your glory

IN the church today… we would say… I want to know your glory
Here is what Moses knew.. Seeing Gods glory without knowing his ways is not as beneficial. IT can actualy cause the winesking to blow up.

Moses did this in Correct order.
Show me the ways so that I may know you,.
Ponder this for a moment. We are not talking about a new believer We are talking about Moses the leader of the Egyptian the man God called by name in as he encountered God in the burning Bush. The Moses that had seen multiple miracels God did to set his people Free From Paroh. The 10 plagues.
And all the mircales God did just with his Stick. In front of Pharoe his staff became a snake that ate the snakes of the magisians.
We are talking about the same Moses that Lifted his Rod and the water departed.
The same Moses that struck the Rock and water came gushing out giving million of people water to drink.

But here we have Moses after walking with God seeing all this happen Pillar of clouds by day and pillar of fire by night. The same Moses God had prior given the 10 commandmnts to Exodus 20.

Jiohn 17:3And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

God is so big…

The more we get to know God the more we know that we don’t know.
Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written. JOHN 21.25

HUNGER AND THIRST FOR GOD.
Psalms 63
O God of my life, I’m lovesick for you in this weary wilderness.
I thirst with the deepest longings to love you more,
with cravings in my heart that can’t be described.
Such yearning grips my soul for you, my God!
2 I’m energized every time I enter
your heavenly sanctuary to seek more of your power
and drink in more of your glory.
3 For your tender mercies mean more to me than life itself.
How I love and praise you, God!
4 Daily I will worship you passionately and with all my heart.
My arms will wave to you like banners of praise.
5 I overflow with praise when I come before you,
for the anointing of your presence satisfies me like nothing else.
You are such a rich banquet of pleasure to my soul.
6–7 I lie awake each night thinking of you
and reflecting on how you help me like a father.
I sing through the night under your splendor-shadow,
offering up to you my songs of delight and joy!
8 With passion I pursue and cling to you.
Because I feel your grip on my life,
I keep my soul close to your heart.

What is Knowing God

GOD ENCOUNTER
What is Knowing God
Back in 1995 One of the first scriptures God ever spoke to me was thisI was alone praying in my room when God spoke this scripture to me. Hearing God was very new to me. But I loved the word I had the bible with me every were to work to meet other people in my car when just about doing anything… I miss that bible it got worn out and broke in thousand pieces.
anyhow The word was and still is very important to me. So God speaks to me there. This chapter and verse and I look it up. As I read that scripture the fear of God came on me aswell as his presence aswell ad fear of my own lack and insecurity just in speaking and talking. I got afraid. I had no deep friendship with any people that I could talk to about my Godencounters or my experiences or what and how God was speaking to me. No one.. a 17 year old guy that avoived people and avoided to talk as much as possible. SO a lot of emotions and thoughts run trough my head there at this moment.

But I knew the word and I remembered Giden and how he put a fleece out and said God if this is you let it rain but the fleece by dry… let it be sunny and the flease wet.. its something that should not happen. So I said To God. God the pastor of the Church that I go to is overseas I pray God if this is you speaking to me- have my pastor pring me a small gift.. even though it is just a box o matches Lord or just anything speak to him to give me something.
a few days later the pastor Comes home and he comes and gives me this small bracelet and on it is a scripture from Isiah 54:17 No weapons fromed against you shall Prosper. Then at the service that same day he gets to the pulpit and says I was there in Uk I think and God spoke to me From 2 Tim 4 2
preach the word in season and out of season……. We never talked much but God used him there to confirm what God was saying to me.
God Loves to confirm his words to us when we are learning and new do not know God yet and his ways. Lets read.

4

2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.

3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

But What is knowing God and What is wisdom – what is the right way to build and walk with God? What draws the favor of God to us, his wisdom, grace, mercy – What moves the heart of God?

There are actually multiple things.

But lets look at this now.
Paul was a man of prayer you can see that in the start of all his letters. And in

1 cor 14:18 I thank my God I speak with tongues more than you all; 19 yet in the church I would rather speak five words with my understanding, that I may teach others also, than ten thousand words in a tongue.

It is no coincidence that Paul when he writes is letters how he starts in his greetings to the saints.

Here is Epheisans

Prayer for Spiritual Wisdom

15 Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, 16 do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: 17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, 18 the eyes of your [f]understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power 20 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all principality[g] and [h]power and [i]might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.

22 And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, 23 which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.

this is 1 Collossians 1.9
9For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, .Philemons 14-7
I am always thankful to my God as I remember you in my prayers 5 because I’m hearing reports about your faith in the Lord Jesus and how much love you have for all his holy followers. 6 I pray for you that the faith we share[d] may effectively deepen your understanding of every good thing that belongs to you in Christ. 7 Your love has impacted me and brings me great joy and encouragement, for the hearts of the believers have been greatly refreshed through you, dear brother.

Titus 1,1
I’m writing you to further the faith[c] of God’s chosen ones and lead them to the full knowledge of the truth that leads to godliness, 2 which rests on the hope of eternal life. God, who never lies, has promised us this before time began. 3 In his own time he unveiled his word through the preaching of the gospel, which was entrusted to me by the command of God our Life GiverPhilippians 1.9
I continue to pray for your love to grow and increase beyond measure, bringing you into the rich revelation of spiritual insight[j] in all things.

10 This will enable you to choose[k] the most excellent way of all[l]—becoming pure and without offense until the unveiling of Christ.[m] 11 And you will be filled completely with the fruits of righteousness[n] that are found in Jesus, the Anointed One—bringing great praise and glory to God!

! thess alonans 1
2 We are grateful to God for your lives[h] and we always pray for you. 3 For we remember before our God and Father how you put your faith into practice, how your love motivates you to serve others, and how unrelenting is your hope-filled patience in our Lord Jesus Christ.[i]

4 Dear brothers and sisters,[j] you are dearly loved by God and we know that he has chosen you to be his very own.[k] 5 For our gospel came to you not merely in the form of words but in mighty power infused with the Holy Spirit and deep conviction

!” thessalonians

We feel a personal responsibility to continually be thanking God for you, our spiritual family,[g] every time we pray. And we have every reason to do so because your faith is growing marvelously beyond measure. The unselfish love each of you share for one another is increasing and overflowing! 4 We point to you as an example of unwavering faith[h] for all the churches of God. We boast about how you continue to demonstrate unflinching endurance[i] through all the persecutions and painful trials you are experiencing.[j] 5

we constantly pray that our God will empower you to live worthy of all that he has invited you to experience.[q] And we pray that by his power all the pleasures of goodness and all works inspired by faith would fill you completely.[r] 12 By doing this the name of our Lord Jesus will be glorified in you, and you will be glorified in him, by the marvelous grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.[s]

I am just showing you a little example of how Paul Prayed.
He prayed for spirit of wisdom and knowledge, the eyes may be opened, so that we may know his hope.
Prayes for us to be filled with knowledge. ,, deepend your understanding of every good thing. Knowledge of the truth that leads to godliness. For our LOVE to GROW and increase beyoung measure. Bringing you INTo REVELATION. .. TO PUT FAITH INTO PRACTICE.So Lets talk about maturing in God.
We so foten quote Ephesians 4:11 and 12

11 And he has appointed some with grace to be apostles, and some with grace to be prophets, and some with grace to be evangelists,[f] and some with grace to be pastors,[g] and some with grace to be teachers.[h] 12 And their calling is to nurture and prepare all the holy believers to do their own works of ministry, and as they do this they will enlarge and build up the body of Christ. 13 These grace ministries will function until we all attain oneness in the faith, until we all experience the fullness of what it means to know the Son of God,[i] and finally we become one perfect man[j] with the full dimensions of spiritual maturity and fully developed in the abundance of Christ.

14 And then our immaturity will end!And we will not be easily shaken by trouble, nor led astray by novel teachings or by the false doctrines of deceivers[k] who teach clever lies. 15 But instead we will remain strong and always sincere in our love as we express the truth. All our direction and ministries will flow from Christ and lead us deeper into him, the anointed Head of his body, the church.

16 For his “body” has been formed in his image and is closely joined together and constantly connected as one. And every member has been given divine gifts to contribute to the growth of all; and as these gifts operate effectively throughout the whole body, we are built up and made perfect in love.

11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

17 This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,

18 Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their hear

Power is a gift that is given. Authority is a fruit of the relationship you have.
We want and desire more power more gifting more this more spiritual gifts and we love all that. But we can not forget the GIVER OF THE GIFT the Loving father. Now if authority is a fruit of a relationship we have to work at it. I have watched over the last decades gifted people come and go fall and make mistakes. Gifting is one thing Character is another thing. We cant just focus on growing our spiritual gifts as then at some point our character will not be able to handle all that comes with the gifts.

When we read about Jesus we see that people Marveled at his Authority.
Who is this man wind and sea obay his voice. Mark 4:41
or When Jesus spoke to the Centurian and his child was healed
matt 8:13 GO let it be done.

We need to understand something. Authority makes demons Tremple now power or the sons of skewa. Acts 19:11-20

In luke 10 Jesus said I give you Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Walking in divine Autority is greater than power.and spiritual gifts.

Lets think about Matthew 7
2
Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ 23Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you

So think this.. Prophetic ministry is not they key- knowing God is. Do you remember the sons of the Prophets in the times of Elisha… They said.. Elisha don’t you know that your master will be taken to heaven today.. why are you following him… but they did not get the double portion. Elisha did. Hearing God and knowing him and his plan is one thing. And hunger for God leads us into a relationship and relationships GROW US. Relationships Sharpen us like iron sharpens Iron. Its not always fun it can hurt and sting But God prunes chasteines those he loves. And as we grow closer into unity with God our authority grows as well as our sphear of influence.

The king james Version translates the Luke 10:19 wring it sas behold I give you POWER but most other translations say Authority. The word Dunamis is not used there. Dunamis means Power.

What I am trying to get across is that we need much more than the power of God. We need to be people that walk in authority and therefor have power.

Think about this.. if we judge people by the spiritual power they carry.. we can see that even some spiritist and new age cult walk in power… Satan did not lose his power.. but he has no AUTHORITY. Not ging there… Jesus took it bake.

I quoted the start of all these letters of Paul to remind you to pray and have a relationship with God for trough that authority and Love comes.
God is Love – Gods biggest sacrifice.. BECOSE GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON. Sacrifial LOVE:

Seek him. Demons don’t tremple at power but authority

Lets talk a little about Character.
undeveloped Character is quick to lose hearing. Just allowing Bad thoughts, bad feelings, emotions, hurt, bitterness result in a week relationship with God. It stops our inner being from hearing God speak from above and places our eyes in the natural where thers is no oversight for the maze. When you seek walking with God and you live in a growing relationship outside factors do not affect your hearing. Because you are secure in the Lord becaue you KNOW HIM:
Think about this when you walk in a relationship.. yoru hearing is not just trough your gift – so even though the gift is gone.. you can stil hear God.
Does Stress reduce you from hearing God?
We all need the stability that comes through relationship.

Let me tell you another secret.. When your relationship with God is good – your relationships with other people will be much better because God and his peace helps you love, understand, have patience and insight into what other people are dealing with and how they view things and why they say what they say.

When we are under much stress and strain we all know that our fuse can get shorter and shorter and some people tend to blow up under pressure.

We all need to learn to LOVE in this world. The world needs our love. And our Love and acts of Love can change hearts and draw people to God.
there is so much we can do to love other people.

Do we know God so well that we know that he is with us and has our back?

Here is something to think about
Go trough the emotions you experience in your life.
think about if you were to give a word in the middle of these emotions how easily can you hear God in the midst of them.
